@lJackl Not even in the same ballpark lol. . . I love Mansell, and especially his score for the Fountain, but this, at least mechanically, blows it out of the water.

As a composer myself, this is nothing short of inspiring. Incredible work.

@elhelwy I disagree. It’s a sort of existentialist take on savoring the simple pleasures of life and not getting caught up in societal norms. I would consider these ideas to be very beneficial, though of course not everyone would. However, I certainly agree that the soundtrack is excellent.

the film had no story line, it had no foundation nor did it have a worthwhile ending. The story of the movie solely revolved around this one man coping with the loss of a partner – what is there to watch there? Describe one thing that was of benefit in that movie? When compared to any of the movies produced that year this movie was rightfully never nominated for an oscar. With that said, I honestly thought the soundtrack was the most beautiful and unique thing I have ever heard – oscar deserving

@Sal3mzafreak I agree. When I saw the movie (few hours ago), this soundtrack made me think the one of The Fountain.

Just finished watching this movie and was awestruck. An absolutely gorgeous and moving movie with a soundtrack that touches your soul. Simply beautiful until the end.

It’s a shame Hollywood is just too self loathing to have given this movie its due since it is certainly Oscar material.
