@detest4321 Thanks for pointing out the amendment, and being civil. I get tired of YouTube “debates” that are simply people cursing. Medicare is a limited federal SP system that exists right now, and SP could be done in theory by expanding it. The financial problems of medicare are another issue, and I won’t speculate now how a major overhaul would affect it. BTW, I do believe strongly in personal responsibility, and staying healthy to begin w/.

Yes, I started on costs since you brought it up. :) Regardless, this is just what is wanted, people talking about the specifics of this vs that and ignoring the big issue. See The 10th Amendment for clarity. If you wanna debate doing this on a per state basis, then there is a debate. Otherwise there is no power given to our federal legislators to even talk about this, much less vote on it. That isn’t my only reason to oppose such a thing, but it is the only one needed.

@detest4321 sounds like you are talking about costs. One possibility for Single Payer is that medicare would simply be expanded to encompass everyone. You would pay more in taxes, but you would no longer pay for private insurance. The difference in cost would be in your favor. Read my 1st post again as to how health care costs would be cut. This is different from the public option, which I’m not convinced will cut costs.

I didn’t comment on the cost, I spoke about the government take over of healthcare industry. How much you think it will cost us to be taxed for 4-5 years for government insurance only for it to come into effect at the end of that term. All the while paying for your real insurance on top of that. Sounds like a killer way to save money. Wait, that doesn’t save anyone money. Oh, its all about growing government at all costs under the guise of helping people and crippling the american economy.

@detest4321 you have no idea what you are talking about. Single payer would cost less money for Americans than private insurance, by stripping down the multitude of insurance billing bureaucracies, million dollar ad campaigns, large pay and bonuses for CEO’s and overall profit/greed driven motivation, well paid lobbyists, and as a single entity Single Payer could get better prices on pharmaceuticals.

Vote no to the hostel take over of another private american industry. Do people really allow themselves to believe that having everything under the control of the government is a good plan? Stop being a god damned GIMMIE and earn the things you want, stop forcing the rest of us to pay for it. Those of you making under a certain amount a year will likely pay little if any for this. Make sure you tell your kids how mommy and daddy didn’t feel like earning money so they gave up and stole it.

Is there a place online where the people can see where senators receive moneys from corp, entities, individuals, the causes they support etc?

I mean without Lobbyists. Even if 70% of us want and demand free health care Congress is owned by the Insurance Lobbyists. As we must get rid of black box voting booths to get a real vote we also must say no to all big Corporate conglomerants who taint our system with their crooked little lawyers (like the one who gave us Bush). He wants unlimited corporate money going from Big Business to our “Representatives. ” Today I listened to two liars of TX. . .

Don’t think he (D) or Grassley (R) will give any money back. . . the millions as reported elsewhere they took from insurance lobbyists). We need a system with Lobbyists and payola. Thanks for the phone #.

These are the kinds of videos that will incite a peasant uprising. America will have its Bastille Day, where these bastard politicians will be marched up and fucking beheaded. The revolution is coming, and it will be violent. There will be another Kent State, in which Someone will die fighting this corrupt government before any democracy will ever be restored. Fuck you, Max Baucus!

    (202) 224-2651

This is the phone number for the Washington office of Sen. Max Baucus.
Call and request that he reject all money from insurance lobbyists or finally admit that he is bought and paid for by private insurance companies.

Senator Baucus is a mercenary for hire, not a legislator. Right now his employer is the private insurance lobby.

Baucus is absolutely right, they really do need more police. Enough police to arrest every single one of the crooks that are sitting on that panel.
